Leveraging our expertise in international commercial mediation, SIMC plays a pivotal role in building capacity and shaping the future of mediation through specialised training programmes.
SIMC has designed a range of training programmes, including:
- Specialist Mediators' Workshop (SMW) – A by-invitation programme for senior professionals seeking to build advanced competencies in mediating cross-border commercial disputes.
- Mediator Accreditation Workshop (MAW) – An intensive training and assessment programme recognised by the International Mediation Institute (IMI), offering participants a structured pathway to professional accreditation.
- Mediation Advocacy Program (MAP) – A specialised programme recognised by the International Mediation Institute (IMI), focused on equipping legal professionals with the skills to represent and advise clients effectively in mediations.
SIMC’s commitment to developing global mediation expertise is reflected in our extensive training track record. We have delivered our training programmes in more than 20 countries, including Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Pakistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Costa Rica, Mexico, Jamaica and Spain. To date, we have trained more than 1,000 judges, senior lawyers and business professionals from more than 43 countries.
Our programmes strengthen mediation capabilities worldwide, and equip professionals with practical dispute resolution skills – advancing amicable dispute resolution and access to justice globally.
To extend the reach of our capacity-building work, SIMC has delivered training programmes in partnership with institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the US Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) and The Asia Foundation (TAF).
