The Specialist Mediators' Workshop (SMW) is the flagship programme of the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC). It is designed for experienced legal professionals and senior business executives seeking to mediate cross-border commercial disputes.
Led by seasoned practitioners, the workshop uses curated role-plays, case studies, and problem-solving exercises to hone participants' skills in complex commercial negotiation and conflict resolution. Participants leave with a structured approach to mediation, grounded in principles of interest-based dispute resolution and international best practice.
On completing an SMW, participants are invited to join our Specialist Mediators Panel, following which they may have the opportunity to mediate or co-mediate cases referred to SIMC.
SIMC Specialist Mediators gain access to an exclusive platform to connect, share insights, and collaborate with experienced mediators, business leaders, and legal professionals from around the world.
To date, we have conducted SMWs in a number of jurisdictions, including Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Costa Rica, Uzbekistan and Jamaica, building a robust and diverse panel of specialist mediators across a range of backgrounds and industry sectors.
