Negotiation Workshop for Singapore Airlines Legal & Compliance Team
On 23 October, the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) conducted a Negotiation Workshop for the Legal & Compliance team of Singapore Airlines (SIA), led by Lim Tat and Chuan Wee Meng.

The workshop featured bespoke negotiation scenarios, each designed around real challenges faced by the SIA legal team when managing both internal and external stakeholders. Through these exercises, participants applied a structured approach that encourages preparation, focus on interests rather than positions, option generation, and value creation.

Why Negotiation Matters for Organisations Negotiation is more than a professional skill—it is a core organisational competency. Whether managing suppliers, business partners, or colleagues, effective negotiation is critical to aligning interests, preserving relationships, and achieving sustainable outcomes. In today’s interconnected workplace, strong communication and negotiation skills empower teams to:
- Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with confidence
- Transform conflicts into opportunities for collaboration
- Balance short-term wins with long-term relationships
- Build trust and credibility through principled dialogue
By investing in structured negotiation training, organisations like Singapore Airlines strengthen their capacity to communicate with clarity, resolve differences constructively, and create lasting value in every interaction.

SIMC thanks the SIA Legal & Compliance team for their enthusiasm and engagement, and looks forward to supporting more organisations in developing their negotiation and communication capabilities.
