Press Release: Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) Announces Appointment of New Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Singapore, 23 May 2016 – SIMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Aloysius Goh as its new Deputy CEO with effect from 1 July 2016.

 

Mr Goh is an International Mediation Institute Certified Mediator and has resolved several high value transnational disputes. He has pioneered mediation schemes for youth and healthcare in Singapore and has received awards from the Singapore Mediation Centre and State Courts for his mediation service.

Mr Goh formerly worked as General Counsel and Company Secretary to a state university and several public healthcare institutes. He holds a Bachelors and Masters of Law from the National University of Singapore and Masters of Education (Educational leadership) from Boston College.

Mr Goh takes over from Ms Eunice Chua, SIMC’s first Deputy CEO who was with SIMC since inception. Ms Chua will be leaving to join the Singapore Management University as an Assistant Professor of Law on 1 July 2016.

His passion for mediation, legal knowledge and his past experience in establishing new mediation services will add value to the SIMC team and potential users. We are grateful to Eunice for her contributions to the work that went into setting up and establishing the SIMC and we are confident that Aloysius will build on the current foundations to take SIMC to greater heights.”

Co-Chair of SIMC, Mr Edwin Glasgow QC added: “We owe a huge debt to Eunice for the truly phenomenal work she has done to get us up and running, but if anyone can fill her shoes, we are convinced that Aloysius can and we are very pleased indeed to welcome him.”
