From Litigation to Mediation

Following Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon’s speech at the Opening of the Legal Year on Monday, 11 January 2016, SIMC Mediator Mr Michael Hwang SC notes in an interview with Channel News Asia that “(t)he SIMC has to develop capacity. It has to build up a panel of internationally-respected mediators whom people can trust”.
The news segment also comments on the global shift away from litigation towards mediation and the trend of judges taking a leading role in the mediation process. Mr Joel Lee, Chairman of the Singapore International Mediation Institute shares his views on the latter in another interview.
