Singapore is one step closer to being a regional hub for dispute resolution, with the launch of the Singapore International Mediation Centre yesterday.

The Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), the world’s first specialist centre for the mediation of international commercial disputes, is now open for business following a launch event at the city state’s Maxwell Chambers.

Law Minister K Shanmugam called it a major milestone in Singapore’s development as a regional dispute resolution hub.

The launch of the new centre to be known as the Singapore International Mediation Centre or SIMC took place today at Maxwell Chambers. The building is also home to the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
