Beach Cleaning Initiatives: Mediating Corporate Responsibility and Ecosystem Harmony
Mediation involves bringing conflicting parties together to find common ground. Similarly, in the context of Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR), beach cleaning becomes a form of environmental mediation — a process where humanity reconciles with nature to restore the balance that has been disrupted.
With that in mind and to end off the year 2023 in a meaningful way, SIMC spent the morning of December 20 cleaning up litter along the shores of Changi Beach Park as part of our CSR initiative efforts. Although this marked our second beach cleanup, it was nonetheless a fantastic team bonding activity and our way of contributing to a greener and more sustainable Singapore!
It is crucial for us to also acknowledge and appreciate the often overlooked contributions of foreign workers who play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness of our city. Serving as the unsung heroes, many of these individuals take on the noble task of working as cleaners, diligently ensuring that our environments remain comfortable and pristine. Their tireless efforts often go unnoticed, but their impact is undeniable. They play an integral part in creating the vibrant and livable spaces that we call home.
In our own small ways, let's make Singapore our garden, nurturing sustainability and fostering a sense of pride as we contribute to the beauty and well-being of our community.
